7th Annual AVL Beer Week Kicks Off Friday

7th Annual AVL Beer Week Kicks Off FridayFrom Catawba Brewing:

ASHEVILLE, NC: AVL Beer Week 2018 will be held May 25 through June 2, offering a variety of events in and around the Greater Asheville Area. Now in its seventh year, AVL Beer Week has grown into the largest annual celebration of craft beer's impact in Western North Carolina. It stands as a tribute to local community, diversity, and artisanal spirt – as well as barley, hops, yeast, and mountain water – all the ingredients that have collectively made Asheville one of the
nation's top travel destinations.

A project in collaboration with the Asheville Brewers Alliance, AVL Beer Week weaves industry, economy, education, and culture together into a week-long series of beer, food, music, and outdoor-centric events. Locals and visitors alike will come together to celebrate the nectar known as craft beer, learn about the art of fermentation, meet the people behind the beers, sample some of Asheville's finest cuisine, explore stunning natural surroundings, and craft their own memorable mountain experiences.

This year’s nine-day celebration features a “Grain to Glass” theme, showcasing local producers and incorporating exclusive AVL Beer Week small batch beers, educational events, beer dinners, festivals, film screenings, and dozens of other beer-centric indoor and outdoor events. The week culminates in Beer City Festival, held at Roger McGuire Green in Asheville's Pack Square Park on Saturday, June 2, featuring over 40 breweries.
