(Wednesday, April 4, 2018) GREENSBORO, NC - After 13 years of partnership, Natty Greene’s Brewing Co. and the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ have collaborated to release a new canned beer - Going Yard Golden Ale - honoring the Grasshoppers’ Bat Dogs, Miss Babe Ruth and Master Yogi Berra.
“We brewed Going Yard with summer baseball games in mind. It is a light bodied, easy drinking and refreshing golden ale, something craft beer and baseball fans can enjoy all season long,” said Kayne Fisher, co-founder of Natty Greene’s Brewing Co. Going Yard was canned in partnership with Tap Hoppers Canning, a local canning and brewery tour venture whom Natty Greene’s uses for the canning of their seasonal beers.
“We are excited to bring Going Yard to the ballpark this season and think it will be a big hit with our fans and the $2 cans on Thirsty Thursdays will be a great value,” said Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore.
Fans first chance to grab a can of Going Yard will be this Thursday at Natty Greene’s Kitchen + Market during the Grasshoppers’ Pre-Game Party on the Deck starting at 4:00 p.m. The first 25 people will get tickets to the Opening Night Game, there will also be $2 can specials, a Home Plate Dinner special, and koozie giveaways.
Six packs of Going Yard will be available for sale starting this Thursday (April 5, 2018) at Natty Greene’s Kitchen + Market at Revolution Mill and Natty Greene’s Brewpub in Downtown Greensboro. Individual cans will be available at all 70 Greensboro Grasshoppers home games.
