Saint Arnold Releases Orange Show Year-Round

Saint Arnold Releases Orange Show Year-RoundFrom Saint Arnold:

Encourages drinkers to "Enjoy The Show" with new year-round brew

HOUSTON, TX  March 13, 2018 - Next week, Saint Arnold Brewing Co., the 2017 Mid-Size Brewing Company of the Year, will release their newest year-round beer, Orange Show. The blonde ale made with real blood oranges is named after the famed folk art monument in Houston's East End neighborhood and will be available in 12 oz cans and on draft across Texas and Louisiana.

Orange Show is a blonde ale made with 2,220 pounds of real blood orange purée per batch, or roughly a half-pound of purée per gallon. A strong citrus aroma comes from the purée added during fermentation and the Centennial and Citra hops. The combination of sweet and slightly tart flavors make it a balanced, light bodied beer.

The Orange Show Monument is a 3,000 square-foot structure designed by the late Jefferson Davis McKissack, a Houston postal worker. He built it as a tribute to his favorite fruit and it is viewed as one of the most important folk art environments in the country. In 2015, Saint Arnold debuted the popular Art Car IPA, named after the famous parade organized by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, so paying homage to the Orange Show Monument for the newest year-round beer was a 'no-brainer' for Texas' oldest craft brewery located in Houston.

"The Orange Show is a Houston institution and one of the things that makes Houston really cool," said Lennie Ambrose, Chief Marketing Officer for Saint Arnold Brewing Co. "We've had a partnership with the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art for decades, so naming a beer after a Houston landmark just made sense."

"The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art couldn't be happier to have partnered with Saint Arnold on the release of Orange Show," said Lynette Wallace, Executive Director for the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. "Both institutions strive to support Houston's artistic community and encourage Houstonians to express their individual creativity, and in doing so have greatly added to the rich fabric of our city. From Saint Arnold's support of the diverse artistic performances that take place at The Orange Show and Smither Park, to their longstanding sponsorship of the annual Houston Art Car Parade, the organization is thrilled to continue our relationship and can't wait for the city to enjoy this refreshing new brew!"

"Orange Show marries our passion for beer with our mission to build community," said Brock Wagner, Founder and Brewer for Saint Arnold. "A portion of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art to promote arts education in Houston."

Orange Show brings the brewery's year round offerings to a total of 12 beers. It will be available in stores and bars across Texas and Louisiana beginning next week.

This update:

The newest addition to our year round lineup, Orange Show, is a blonde ale made with real blood oranges. It is named after the famed folk art monument in Houston's East End neighborhood and is available in the San Antonio market now.
Each batch of Orange Show uses 2,200 lb of real blood orange purée, added during fermation. That's about 1/2 lb per gallon. This - along with the Centennial and Citra hops - gives the beer a strong citrus aroma. The combination of sweet, bitter and slightly tart flavors make it a balanced, light bodied beer.
The beer's name comes from the Orange Show Monument, a 3,000 square-foot structure designed by the late Jefferson Davis McKissack, a Houston postal worker. He built it as a tribute to his favorite fruit, and it is viewed as one of the most important folk art environments in the country.
For decades, we've had a partnership with the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Our Art Car IPA - and the art cars our salespeople drive - were inspired by their Art Car Parade. We thought paying homage to the Orange Show Monument with our newest beer was a fun way to grow the relationship and support their mission. To that end, a portion of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art to promote arts education in Houston.
