Baxter Brewing Summer Swelter Coming In April

Baxter Brewing Summer Swelter Coming In AprilFrom Baxter:
By every account it’s been a brutal winter. February felt like May; March like January; and December like the Antarctic. We always yearn for warmer weather this time of year, but right now we could particularly use a dose of sunnier days and sunnier beers! So we're arguably more stoked then in any year prior to see our team on the deck of the brewhouse mashing in the signature citrus peel and lemongrass of Summer Swelter; the beer of ours that Esquire Magazine called one of “the 8 just-right summer beers”!
Summer Swelter is Baxter’s OG revolving release and the one that put the series on the map for us. It pairs perfectly this time of year with all of summer’s seasonal bounty (I.e. LOBSTER, and fish tacos, and light summer salads, and all those other goodies). Swelter is light in body and crisp in taste; brewed with lemon and lime peel, kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass. Simply put, she’s the beer to drink while you’re waiting for ice out (and warm in). Start looking and asking for it in April.

Summer Swelter – Named “one of 8 ‘just-right’ summer beers for 2012” by Esquire Magazine, “Swelter” tips its cap to common summer beer tropes of citrus and wheat flavors, but the commonalities end there: Summer Swelter is not your typical sweet summer shandy! Although it’s a wheat-based beer brewed with real lemon and lime peel, additions of real lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves, along with a blend of citrusy American hops, make this beer anything but sweet. However, don’t be turned off. A delicate balance only Baxter’s incredibly talented brewers could achieve, Swelter features a pleasant-not-overpowering bitterness, while remaining light and refreshing; necessary, of course, for warm New England summers and heightened refreshment. Pairs with: Lobster; fresh fish; shellfish – fried, broiled, or raw; green salads; curried chicken salad; Italian ice; did we mention lobster?
