Jekyll Brewing has launched a new brewery-roasted coffee business, Jekyll Coffee Lab. Alpharetta, GA – February 1, 2018– Jekyll Brewing announces today the launch of Jekyll Coffee Lab and a new line of sustainably and socially-conscious coffees. The first coffee to be launched is a Colombia Tolima coffee, which is certified Organic and Fair Trade, which means it was grown without the use of harmful chemicals for fertilizing and pesticides; and Fair Trade, meaning the farmers were paid a higher established price for their work. All the coffees Jekyll Coffee Lab source will be as sustainable and socially-conscious as possible, assuring the farmers make a more sustainable wage for their work, and is produced in a manner that’s respectful of the planet and its inhabitants. Future coffee offerings include beans from Rwanda, Mexico, Costa Rica, and
Kenya, and are sourced with the help from the highest quality coffee importer in the world, Café Imports of Minneapolis, MN.
Michael Lundmark, CEO & Founder of Jekyll Brewing, has been roasting coffee at his home for years, and has been wanting to add coffee to its Jekyll Brewing lineup for years. Michael says, “I bought our commercial coffee roaster in July, then 2 days later met Jason about running our social media. After learning about Jason’s background in coffee, we immediately hired him full time.” Jason Dominy, is a coffee professional of almost 17 years. Jason was the former chair of
the Barista Guild of America, a certified trainer with the Specialty Coffee Association, and was employed by one of the largest coffee roasters in the U.S. Jason is helping assure the Jekyll Coffee Lab program is the highest quality.
Brewery-roasted coffee will be available in the Jekyll Brewing Taproom, and online on the Jekyll Brewing website, in 12 ounce bags of whole beans. Brewed coffee will be available in the Taproom in the near future, as will be cold brew as an offering. Founder, Mike Lundmark says, “I am looking forward to introducing our customers to all of the great flavors that single origin coffee’s offer. We are working on cold brew recipes now. Look for our cold brew soon on draft and in cans. Craft beer and craft coffee are a perfect pair.”
