Sarasota, Florida – JDub’s Brewing Company has teamed up with iconic ska
punk band, Less Thank Jake, to make a beer featured as part of the brewery’s
four-year anniversary party. “Dub Fest” is a craft beer and music festival taking
place on February 10 th , at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. The beer, an orange, wheat
ale, was the brainchild of Less Than Jake drummer, Vinnie Fiorello, and JDub’s
Founder, Jeremy Joerger, who reached out to the band with the idea.
Jeremy Joerger, “Ska is a staple in our taproom and really jives well with the vibe
of the brewery. We wanted to highlight this genre at Dub Fest, and Less Than
Jake has been a beacon of this style of music for a long time. Dub Fest and the
collaboration beer will highlight a Florida brewery and a Florida band. As far as
the style of beer profile goes, I let Vinnie take full control.”
Vinnie Fiorello, on the style of beer, “We wanted a drinkable light beer that says,
“Florida”. We decided on Orange. What better flavor profile says Florida as
much as oranges? The wheat is a good style because it is a lawn-mower style
beer that you can drink all day in the Sun.”
The craft beer festival will last from 2pm to 5pm and feature a “Pros vs. Joes”
style competition. Home brewers will be able to serve their libations alongside
brick and mortar breweries, competing for the “best” beer, as voted on by the
festival attendees. Two stages will host live bands throughout the festival.
Tickets can be purchased in the brewery taproom and online at:
