Exciting news from Drake’s:
San Leandro, CA | January 9, 2018 – The End is Beer! On Saturday, February 3, Drake’s Brewing will host Hopocalypse Day to celebrate the return of their massively hopped Imperial IPAs. The event will include the release of their Hopocalypse beers on draft and in bottles, and feature super fresh, hard to find, double and triple IPAs from over a dozen breweries in a festival setting. A warm-up to SF Beer Week, and one of Drake’s most popular events of the year, Hopocalypse
Day offers beer lovers a chance to pick up bottles of Hopocalypse Green Label Double IPA and
Hopocalypse Black Label Triple IPA, which are two of the brewery’s most elusive and sought- after beer releases. The event will also include the release of Hopocalypse White Label Double IPA on draft.
According to Drake’s Brewmaster John Gillooly, “Each beer is a different platform for hop expression. Hopocalypse Green Label Double IPA is a strong ale with dank citrus flavors, while
Hopocalypse Black Label Triple IPA is more tropical, and tastes like boozy pineapple juice. Finally, Hopocalypse White Label is an unfiltered ale with a malty sweetness, that’s balanced with a juicy hop profile.”
For the second year, Drake’s will also host an Imperial IPA Festival during Hopocalypse Day. Attendees will be able to sample an additional 20+ Imperial IPAs during the event. Fieldwork Brewing, Alvarado Street Brewery, and Beachwood Brewing are just a few of the breweries who have confirmed participation. The complete list of breweries and the beer lineup will be published before the event. In addition to the beer, guests can enjoy live music, food, and take the free shuttle running to and from the San Leandro BART station and Drake’s. Details and ticket information are below.
