This update on Local’s Light 16 Feb 2018 from Short’s:

Short’s Brewing Company of Bellaire, Michigan announces a rebrand of their popular legacy flagship brand, Local’s Light. Local’s Light is a classic American Lager originally created to be beer in its simplest form.

The Local’s Light rebrand was completed in house by Short’s Art Director, Jesse Den Herder in collaboration with the Creative and Sales Teams. Local’s Light has a long history at Short’s, according to Joe Short, founder and CEO, “I’m very excited and proud of where we’ve taken Local’s Light. Local’s was the gateway beer for a lot of people who were just getting into craft beer when we opened up in Bellaire 14 years ago. I’m loving the flavor and the simplicity that the “all malt” recipe provides. It’s a high quality, yet simple beer. Jesse did a great job with the art. It brings the classy and elegant versatility of the beer together while tying in its long history as a flagship brand. It’s a sexy package, with great pricing, that tastes delicious, and it’s made by people who care in Northern Michigan. I couldn’t be more happy (and refreshed) about getting this product into the hands of people who like beer.”

While the recipe remains the same, the processes for brewing this beer at the production level have been refined over the last year. Local’s Light is a classic American Lager originally crafted by Joe Short in 2004 to be “beer in its simplest form”. It’s a bright yellow beer with effervescent aromatics of fresh malted barley and lager yeast. Local’s Light has soft and subtle flavors of malt that finish crisp and clean making it perfectly balanced for smooth and easy drinkability.

Distribution of new packaged products will be coming to stores soon. Bottles and cans will be available at Short’s Mart starting on Friday, February 23rd. Short’s Michigan distribution partner, Imperial Beverage, will distribute six packs of bottles and cans starting at the end of February, with 12 packs of cans coming in March. Distribution partners in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin will carry Local’s Light cans starting in March.
