Senate Finance Bill May Cut Taxes On Beer

Senate Finance Bill May Cut Taxes On BeerFrom WSJ:

The updated Senate Finance bill includes a package of changes to alcohol taxation that some lawmakers have been encouraging.

It changes the structure for beer taxation so brewers can pay $16 per barrel on up to six million barrels per year while keeping the current top rate of $18 per barrel. The smallest brewers, those making less than 60,000 barrels, would get a $3.50 rate on all of their production.

The changes would expire after 2019.
