Oskar Blues Brewery Releasing Taproom-ONLY Rum Barrel-Aged Death by Coconut 12/9From Oskar Blues:

Release events in Colorado and North Carolina on Dec. 9

LONGMONT, CO ., BOULDER, Colo., and BREVARD, NC  - Nov. 30, 2017 - Let’s get ready to RUM-ble. Oskar Blues Brewery‘s cult favorite, Rum Barrel-Aged Death By Coconut, is back for a ONE-DAY return on Saturday, Dec. 9 at its Colorado and North Carolina Taprooms.

Rum Barrel-Aged Death By Coconut clocks in at 11% ABV and is aged in barrels for nine months until it has the right amount of rum-soaked oak, molasses, vanilla, coconut and chocolate goodness derived from the wood. Then, it is racked and swirled together with dessicated coconut, coconut cream, and pure liquid cacao from Cholaca to create a beer that’s layered and complex. Rum B.A. Death By Coconut will be available exclusively on draft in limited rotation and in 19.2 ounce stovepipes for a SINGLE DAY.

“When the cult speaks, we listen. We knew we had to bring back this rummy, coconutty, chocolatey concoction," said Tim Matthews, head of brewery operations. "Death By Coconut takes the palate to a different place from the typical beer world of malt and hops. When you think of coconut, you think tropical and when you think tropical, you naturally think rum. We’re basically sending your taste buds on vacation with this barrel-aged goodness.”
