From Braxton Brewing:
Dedicated to innovation, Braxton Labs has been tapping new experiments on a weekly basis in their brewery and taproom located in Newport, Kentucky. One of their most popular beers to date — Sweet Potato Casserole Imperial Brown Ale — will be released in 500ml bottles on Saturday, November 11th.
“Braxton Labs lets us listen to our customers. Our brewing team dreams up crazy ideas and our customers tell us what they like and dislike,” said Evan Rouse, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Braxton Brewing Company. “Sweet Potato Casserole has been a fun project and one that everyone loved. We’re excited to get it in bottles, just in time for the holidays.”
The imperial brown ale is meant to remind you of grandma’s (or grandpa’s) sweet potato casserole. It’s brewed with 115 lbs of roasted sweet potatoes per 12 barrel batch. Finished with cinnamon and vanilla beans it creates the perfect balance of sweet and spice. At Braxton Labs, the beer was served on draft with a toasted marshmallow…just like the casserole. The imperial brown ale checks in at 7.5% ABV and 18 IBU.
The bottles will be packaged with a marshmallow to toast and top your own “casserole” at home. Pour, toast, sip and lift one to life.
“From the beginning Braxton Labs has been a space for innovation for the entire Braxton team. The idea for Sweet Potato Casserole was actually born in one of our monthly staff beer idea meetings,” said Zac Boehnke, lead innovation brewer at Braxton Labs. “Bringing this beer to life has been quite a project, but after the overwhelming response we received from the first batch, we knew we had to brew it again.”
A very limited amount of bottles will be released at 11am at Braxton Labs on Saturday, November 11th. The 500ml individual bottle will be $5.99 or four will be available for $19.99. Marshmallows included.
In addition, Braxton Brewing Company will have Holtman’s Donuts available to those in line. The Cincinnati Bakery is creating a sweet potato casserole donut for the event.
