Exciting release news from Hangar 24 in Redlands, CA:
Do not miss the Saturday, Oct. 7 release of our new Cherry Harbor Sour Wheat Ale, with hints of sweet and tart cherries, in a low ABV refresher that will allow summer to last just a bit longer. It will be available when doors open at the Redlands Tap Room and the Hangar 24 Lake Havasu Brewery & Grill.
Think of the hour between daylight and dark, the sun sets behind the peak at Santa Catalina Island and the sky is flush with the sweet-and-sour hues of pink, orange and yellow, all washing together so magically you can taste it.
The wraps are off our newest offering, brewed in the Berliner Weisse style, known throughout Germany. The acidity and low hop content harbors (see what we did there?) thoughts of grilling at sunset, an evening on the porch with nowhere to be, a gathering around the campfire on a cool evening reminiscing about all the adventures of the past summer.
How low is that hop content? Try 4.6 IBUs to be precise. And the 3.9 percent ABV means this sour, bright and hazy offering won't sneak up and grab you. Cherry Harbor Sour Wheat Ale is the special release you wish was around all year so do not miss it.
Oktoberfest is coming
Our Oktoberfest on Oct. 14 at the Redlands Tap Room offers all the back-slapping good times of the annual celebration in Germany, in a far more manageable space that won't separate you from your group ... at least not indefinitely.
Bands like Strangebrew (noon-2 p.m.), the polka band Carrera (3-6 p.m.) and Tia & The Trouble (6:30-9 p.m.) will play. The Bacon Nation Food Truck will be making pork belly-inspired treats all day long. There will be a beer stein holding competition, a "Das Boot" race, cornhole, and Hammerschlagen.
Admission is $5, but it not only gets you into the festivities, you also get five beer-tasting tickets and a commemorative mini-stein that can be used for tasting the five variants of Hangar 24 beers that will be announced at a later date.
