Exciting release news coming from Cascade Brewing:
PORTLAND, OR . – On Tuesday, Sept. 19, Cascade Brewing will release Vitis Noble in both 750ml bottle and on draught. The beer will be available at its two Portland pubs – the Cascade Brewing Barrel House and the Raccoon Lodge – and through its regular distribution channels.
A cousin of The Vine project, Vitis Noble – which literally means Noble Vine – features sour wheat and blond ales aged in oaks barrels for up to 16 months with Willamette Valley grown chardonnay grapes, one of the most celebrated noble varietals.
This Northwest sour ale captures the vibrancy of chardonnay complemented by a kiss of French oak and notes of melon, apple and tropical fruit. Chardonnay grapes complement an oaky characteristic from additional oak staves in the barrels. The end product is a wonderful balance between the beautiful flavors of the Northwest grown chardonnay grapes, oak tendencies and a bright clean finish.
Vitis Noble is a Tier One offering; Cascade’s bottles have distinct label styles for each of the three Cascade Brewing pricing tiers, with each label within the tier utilizing distinctive colors to clearly differentiate each beer. The tiers differ by the style of beer used in the product, the type ingredients contained within, the time aged in the barrels and types of barrels used.
