Another great craft beer event coming from urban Chestnut Brewing:
Our biggest annual festival spans three full days with festivities kicking off at noon on Friday.
Dates:
Friday 9/22: 12 p.m. - 11p.m.
Saturday 9/23: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Sunday 9/24: 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
As is tradition, the Oktoberfest experience starts with bier. UCBC’s OktoberFestbier/Märzen (Oachkatzlschwoaf), Bavarian Lager (Zwickel), and Bavarian Weissbier (Schnickelfritz) will be available in half-liter & liter pours at the fest. Oktoberfest St. Louis will also feature the standard fare found at Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration, I.e. pretzels, brats, currywurst, roasted chicken, and frikadellen. Popular Oktoberfest competitions like Masskrugstemmen (stein-holding contests) and Fingerhackeln (finger wrestling) will make a return, as will a great line-up of polka & oompah-thumping music from the Bolzen Beer Band, Die Spitzbaum, Dave Hylla’s Good Times Band, The Deutschmeister Brass Band, St. Louis Express, Larry Hallar, Uber Cool, and many more local, popular acts.
This year all food & bier must be purchased via the use of Oktoberfest tokens, valued at $6 apiece. The token system* is designed to cut down on lines by reducing transaction time. To save time and money, festival-goers are strongly encouraged to purchase Fest Packs in advance, which include (5) tokens and can be purchased for a discounted rate of $25 (a $30 value) from August 23rd through September 14th at the Grove Brewery & Bierhall, the Midtown Brewery & Biergarten, and online at urbanchestnut.com/merch. All other tokens must be purchased day-of-festival via cash-only. Gratuity and tax are included in the cost of tokens so there are no ‘extra expenses’ once tokens are purchased!
