Not exactly shocking news, but this from the Scranton Times:
Mohegan Sun Pocono also will not hold Oktoberfest this year. The casino has held the event in partnership with Times-Shamrock Communications, which owns The Times-Tribune.
“We’re always evaluating our events across Mohegan Sun Pocono, those of the annual variety included,” Carlucci said in an emailed statement. “In doing so for PA Oktoberfest, which was a partnership with Times-Shamrock, keeping both what is best for our guests in mind as well as what is best for Mohegan Sun Pocono from a business standpoint, we decided it was in the best interest to take this year off and continue to evaluate this fall event.”
Carlucci pointed out, however, there is always the possibility an Oktoberfest event could return to Mohegan Sun Pocono after this year “in revamped fashion.”
Really to sad that all the good things that happen in and for our area are taken away... And revamped? Polka, German style music is the only way to go for Oktobertfest, Or don't call it an Oktobertfest
ReplyDeleteCarlucci is really screwing things up at the casino and racetrack. There is hardly anyone there on a Saturday night. No drink specials and restaurant closes early. Taking away Oktoberfest and party on the patio.
