Cape May, NJ-- Cape May Brewing Company, the Jersey Shore’s premier local brewery, is pleased to announce a series of exciting events in conjunction with American Craft Beer Week, running May 15-21.

American Craft Beer Week is such a great week for the industry,” says CMBC president and co-founder, Ryan Krill. “It’s a week set aside at the beginning of May -- just when it’s perfect get-outside-and-drink-a-beer weather -- to celebrate all of the great things about craft beer.”

Tuesday, May 16

Cape May Brewing Company is hosting a Sour Hour in the Beer Garden at 6:00 p.m. Visitors will get the inside scoop on what’s going on in CMBC’s sour program, with the opportunity to taste some of their upcoming releases.

Wednesday, May 17

Keeping the tradition of Cape May Brewing Company’s One-Off Wednesdays, for American Craft Beer Week they’ve got two delicious one-offs planned. In a Battle of the Sextels, the women at the brewery are serving up their favorite brew and the guys are brewing up theirs. Whichever kicks first wins the battle, so come out and help kick your favorite keg.

That night at 6pm, CMBC is hosting a beer dinner at Charlie’s in Somers Point: $45 for five courses of mouth-watering dishes paired with CMBC brews. Call (609) 927-3663 -- reservations are a must.

· The Bog Cranberry Shandy paired with crisp bibb lettuce and pepper watercress, dressed with a white balsamic cranberry vinaigrette, topped with sugared cranberries and toasted almonds

· Coastal Evacuation Double IPA paired with a cream soup with the rich flavor of locally grown vegetables, pureed and infused with Benton’s hickory smoked country bacon

· Follow the Gull IPA -- our new release to celebrate Cape May County’s 325th anniversary -- paired with twelve hour Follow the Gull-braised pork shoulder sliders

· Misty Dawn Saison paired with Misty Dawn-battered shrimp served with cheddar cheese beer dipping sauce

· Honey Porter paired with Honey Porter-poached pears served with vanilla honey ice cream, using local Jersey Fresh honey

Thursday, May 18

Cape May Brewing Company will be at Chickie’s and Pete’s from 7-9:00 p.m. in Egg Harbor Township with representatives from Weyerbacher for a dual Tap Takeover and a sneak peek of the collaboration beer by the two breweries, Paradise 160. The festivities will be outside on the deck, with live music, games, and all sorts of activities to celebrate this historic release. In addition, each brewery will be bringing along four of their favorite brews for a nine-tap Takeover. Proceeds will benefit the Covenant House of Atlantic City, tasked with helping the homeless youth of our area.

At the Tasting Room, CMBC will host scientists from the Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JCNERR) for Scientists on Tap. Brewer Andrew Ewing will be presenting some of CMBC’s coastal-themed beers, so revellers will be able to sample while learning about ocean life with the Cape May Whale Watch and Research Center. Seats are $10 and limited -- call Kaitlin Gannon with the JCNERR 609-812-0649 ext. 206 or gannon@marine.rutgers.edu for reservations.
