From Drake’s:
Due to an unexpected delay, one of our four Hopocalypse releases will not be ready in time for Hopocalypse Day. While we’re bummed that we won’t be able to pour Black Label at the party, we’re still planning an epic release event of biblical proportions for Green Label, White Label, Red Label, and a whole lot of hoppy awesomeness.
In our little universe of art and science, sometimes nature doesn’t play by our rules. Black Label—a 12.5% Triple IPA—is simply the biggest hoppy beer we make. Every year it takes a lot of babysitting, hand-holding and yeast-whispering to get the beer into your hands. More than anything this beer takes time, and it can be unpredictable. This year, our little yeast bugs have been working slower than expected, which has delayed the start of dry-hopping. Since Black Label gets dry-hopped three times over the course of nearly two weeks, here we are still waiting…We won’t make any decisions that compromise the quality of our beer, so Black Label will be bottled when it’s ready.
To make up for this delay, we’ve decided to add an exclusive run of this year’s rarest Hopocalypse brew—White Label—in 22oz bottles, available only on Hopoc Day. This year, it’s a NE-style Double IPA that’s juicy, hazy and exploding with tropical hop joy. There will be a 12-bottle limit on White Label, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To ensure everyone knows how to get their hands on this year’s Black Label bottles, Hopocalypse Day will be the only time to purchase them in 2017. Vouchers will be available for up to 12 bottles of Black Label per person. Pick-up will be at the brewery within 30 days of the bottling date. Included with your “Black Label Futures” are two free 4oz tasters on pick-up day, along with a coupon for 15% off merchandise. We appreciate your patience and the reward will be worth the wait!
Hopocalypse Day 2017 is this Saturday, February 4, and we’ve got a helluva party planned.
