CHICAGO, Feb. 23, 2017 The Pittsburgh Penguins® are getting ready to host the Philadelphia Flyers® outdoors at Heinz Field on Saturday, Feb. 25, as part of the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™. Hockey fans in Pittsburgh will be treated to pre-game celebrations and a rivalry beer summit hosted by Coors Light, the World's Most Refreshing Beer and the Official Beer of the NHL®.
The Coors Light Beer Summit, held Saturday, Feb. 25, from 3-3:30 p.m. ET at SoHo Bar & Restaurant (203 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA), features former Penguins® star Paul Coffey and former Flyers® star Eric Lindros. The two former players, alongside NHL legend Jeremy Roenick as master of ceremonies, will discuss what went through their minds when getting ready for rivalry games, what pushed them to the next level, how losing a big rivalry game motivated them to never let it happen again and their reaction to being named to the 100 Greatest NHL Players list as part of the NHL's Centennial celebration.
Doors to the Coors Light Beer Summit open at 2 p.m. ET. Free tickets are available to people 21 and older on a first-come, first-serve basis that day. Fans also can follow along on Facebook Live by visiting Facebook.com/NHL.
"At Coors Light, we know each season is personal, tense and unpredictable for both players and fans, and nothing pushes teams more than their rivals," said Ashley Kornbluth, Coors Light marketing manager. "The Coors Light Beer Summit brings together two rivals over an ice cold Coors Light to celebrate that extra work put in by players and fans when facing that rival team."
In addition to the Beer Summit, legal-drinking-age fans can visit the Coors Light Beer Garden at The PreGame, the official tailgate party of the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™, to enjoy a refreshing Coors Light. The PreGame will be free and open to the public from 3-8 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 25. On Friday, Feb. 24, fans can swing by the Coors Light tent from 6-7 p.m. ET to meet Roenick.
Fans also will be able to join the Coors Light sustainability mission with former Penguins® and Flyers® alumni. The alumni players will be at the Coors Light Beer Garden February 25 from 4-7 p.m. ET to help fans take their best shot at the Coors Light Slap Shot, using crushed cans and pints as pucks.
In addition to the events, fans also have the opportunity to join thousands of people making the pledge to never drive drunk and always have a designated driver with Coors Light and TEAM Coalition. Those who make the pledge will receive a souvenir photo and be entered for a chance to win a NHL prize pack.
