From Starr Hill:
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - (December 6, 2016) Starr Hill Brewery proudly announces the return of IPA JamBEERee on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Virginia’s largest craft beer festival celebrating local India Pale Ales will once again be held at the Hangar Park, across from Starr Hill Brewery & Tap Room in Crozet, VA. Starr Hill will also hold their Homebrew JamBEERee Competition, which produced a Silver Medal Winner at the Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am in 2016.
This year’s IPA JamBEERee will showcase a wide variety of Virginia breweries pouring their hoppiest styles and the release of several rare and exclusive offerings from Starr Hill, along with some additional non-IPA options. The day will be soundtracked by a lineup of live and local music, food trucks, recreational games, and proceeds to benefit a local non-profit organization.
"The opportunity for experimentation within the IPA-style is truly remarkable, and it's always fun to brew with new ingredients and techniques," said Robbie O’Cain, Starr Hill’s Brewmaster. “IPA JamBEERee is unique in the way it showcases the best Virginia-made IPAs from craft brewers and homebrewers alike.”
The Homebrew JamBEERee Competition, judged by the Starr Hill brewing team, will be held in April with the top three entries invited to pour their beers at IPA JamBEERee. The first place winner will go on to brew a batch of their recipe with Starr Hill, which will be entered into the Great American Beer Festival’s Pro-Am Competition. 2016’s Homebrew JamBEERee winner, Gary Layton, and his Vernal Equinox English IPA took home the Silver Medal at the GABF Pro-Am.
Details on participating breweries, performers, tickets, and homebrew competition will be revealed in early February on JamBEERee.com. Follow updates via Starr Hill’s social media accounts: Facebook.com/StarrHillBrewery, Twitter @StarrHill, and Instagram @StarrHillBrewery.
