From Oskar Blues:
First off…
Thank you to those who came to this event in anticipation of a very special release. We don’t do these often and so we weren’t ready for the avalanche of interest for these very limited beers.
Plain and simple; we fucked up. No limits was a bad call and it got out of hand. A shipping error led to less cans at the taproom than folks there thought they had, and a miscommunication on the price of the product only made things worse.
Lastly, our social media responses to people’s anger and/or disappointment was tone deaf. These issues are being address and convos are occurring with all parties to fix shit.
Straight up we’re really sorry that we got this release wrong and that many of you are not happy with Oskar Blues. We pride ourselves and being a good brewery, treating our fans with respect and making things enjoyable for all involved. We’re already in long discussions on how to make the process better organized, less open to abuse and that the people that want to get this beer can do so.
On Saturday, December 17th from Noon – 6 pm, Rum Barrel-Aged DBC & Rum Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy 19.2 oz cans will be for sale in limited quantities of 12 per person per flavor. After 6 pm, IF there are still cans available (Highly unlikely), all bets are off and there will be NO LIMITS on quantities. We’ll be introducing a numbering system to help streamline the release and limit the amount of time you need to stand in line. We’re also launching a new beer club to gain additional insight and access to limited release OB brews – The CANilinguist Society. Stay tuned for details.
Thanks again for all the local love and we’re sorry that things weren’t as smooth as they should have been this weekend. Give us another shot on December 17th – great food, music, good vibes and RUM BARREL AGED DEATH BY COCONUT & RUM BARREL AGED TEN FIDY!!
We hope that you’ll give us another chance and, again, we cannot tell you how sorry we about last Saturday.
