Dark Charge is a massive Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout that showcases Kentucky’s heritage - Bourbon. This year’s edition was aged for an entire year in Kentucky Artisan Distillery barrels. Dark as the Covington night, this beer features notes of stone fruits, chocolate, coffee, oak, roasted malts, and umami. With an oil-like consistency, and tan head, it is bold enough to inspire you and strong enough to light up a city.
This is our second annual Winter Block Party and we’re planning for it to be bigger and better.
Beginning at 12p, bottles will be available for purchase in the taproom. The Toasted Coconut variant was voted on by Braxton Builders -- a group of individuals who backed the our Kickstarter Project at an amount greater than or equal to $75. This group of individuals will have the first opportunity to purchase the Builders Select variant. More details will be shared specifically with this group.
The party will also begin at 12p in a heated tent just west of the taproom. Once again, the party will feature live music, food trucks, guest taps and more.
In addition to Braxton Brewing Co.’s Dark Charge and other draft offerings, the guest tap lineup will include barrel-aged beers from: Upland Brewing Company, Rivertown Brewery and Barrel House, MadTree Brewing, Rhinegeist, West Sixth Brewing, Ethereal Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, New Belgium Brewing, Blank Slate Brewing Company, Against The Grain Brewery, Quaff Bros, Central State Brewing, Country Boy Brewing and Fifty West Brewing Company.
Live music will begin at noon and play through 11p. Three food trucks will also be at the event: Cuban Pete Sandwiches, Empanadas Aqui, and Texas Joe The Legal Mexican, Tex-Mex Food Truck.

NO ON-LINE SALES:
There is nothing I love more about this industry than celebrating the creativity that an inspired brewer showcases when they have the opportunity to barrel-age something special. The time, thought, and effort that goes into designing a beer that perfectly compliments the oak and sweetness of what was once aging for a much greater period of time in the barrel before is unparalleled. As a brewery that prides itself on being technologically advanced, we’ve always wanted to utilize the easiest way possible for you to be able to buy our bottles, and celebrate these amazing beers.
Sometime late last year, we found an opportunity to sell these one of a kind beers to you via the internet, and since we’ve made that decision, many of you have thanked us. There’s no doubt that we will strive to continually utilize the easiest methods for you to obtain these special bottles, but on December 3rd, Dark Charge is different.
Dark Charge is about more than just beer. The Winter Block Party is very much about the community we get to call home. In fact, we’ve invited 18 of our friends in the industry to showcase some of their most inspired products. We’ll be creating a once in a lifetime experience by pulling the pin on a Dark Charge barrel and walking through a tasting with our brewers. We’ll have live music and food trucks. We’ll even have a fully functional coffee bar. On top of all of this, we’ll be pouring 5 Dark Charge variants, and celebrating the end to an amazing year!
The Winter Block Party is our way of saying thank you for supporting us through the way we know best — showcasing the beers that inspired us to start this business, and we just don’t feel that the internet can translate this message. I hope to personally thank each and every one of you on December 3rd.
