From Straight To Ale & AlaBev:
Birmingham, AL. – AlaBev, Alabama’s premier craft distributor, will now begin distributing the winning brew from its second bi-annual Masters of the Brewniverse competition. The homebrew competition provided grand-prize winner Craig Pinkerton of Hoover, Alabama the opportunity to brew a limited edition, specialty beer with Straight to Ale Brewing.
“We started the Masters of the Brewniverse series last year to great success with the hopes of expanding for years to come,” stated Harry Kampakis, President of AlaBev. “Thanks to the overwhelming response from Alabama’s craft community, AlaBev was able to continue to highlight our state’s breweries and cultivate the home brewing community through our Masters of the Brewniverse homebrew competition. This is the first series of its kind, and we are proud to expand our roots as a distributor in Alabama even further.”
The Spring 2016 Masters of the Brewniverse grand-prize winner Craig Pinkerton took the gold with his Blonde Baroness Belgian Blond homebrew. Pinkerton’s brew was heralded by judges for its pristine Belgian character, clean taste, and light golden color. The brew will be available in six-pack cans at retailers across Alabama.
“This was really the first time that I have gotten to serve my beer to the public. Until the Masters of the Brewniverse event, I had only been able to share it with friends and family in my garage. They are always happy about having a free beer. This was a great opportunity to get some honest reactions to my beer. Thankfully many of them enjoyed it as much as I did,” stated Craig Pinkerton following his recognition as grand-prize winner.
