Boulevard Joins Kansas City B-cycle Public Bike Share System

September 6, 2016 – Kansas City, MO – Earlier this summer Boulevard Brewing Company opened the doors to its new Tours & Recreation Center, designed to provide visitors with an improved and more comprehensive experience. The 20,000 square foot space includes exhibits, an expanded gift shop and tasting room, and a second floor Beer Hall. Just outside sits Kansas City’s 28th B‑cycle station, part of a public bike share system that gives riders the opportunity to rent a bike for short trips throughout the city.

“The B-cycle station makes perfect sense for our new Center,” said Amber Ayres, director of Boulevard’s Tours & Rec Department. “It offers an easy, convenient & environmentally friendly way for visitors to get here from downtown, Westport or the Plaza.”

B-cycle is a public/private program of BikeWalkKC, a nonprofit organization that promotes walking and biking. The system offers a variety of payment options to suit rider’s needs, from a single ride at $3 per 30 minutes, to multi-day options, to an annual membership.

“The new bike share station at Boulevard is the first in the Westside neighborhood, and was made possible through a sponsorship from the brewery,” said Eric Vaughan, Kansas City B‑cycle program manager. “It’s the first phase in a two-part expansion, so look for two more stations to open later this month.”
