Braxton Brewing Adding Crowlers 6/24

We are excited to announce we are launching CROWLERS® on Friday, June 24thin the taproom!

These will replace the traditional 32oz Howler (half sized growler). However, we will still be filling your Howlers if you have them and bring one in. The CROWLER® is a revolutionary beer container that has many benefits.

It is a single 32oz aluminum can that is filled from our draft system following a CO2 purge. The CO2 purge helps reduce the chance of beer degrading oxygen getting in the final packaged product. Once the can is filled it moves on to seaming — very similar to how our Storm and Crank Shaft cans are seamed.

CROWLERS® have a lot of added benefits over the traditional glass growler or howler. Being made of 100% aluminum they are infinitely recyclable. The aluminum also has great benefits to beer stability as well. It does not allow any light to pass through, keeping the beer at its best, removing the chance of becoming “light struck.” Much like one of the reasons that we chose cans over glass bottles, you can take cans/aluminum a lot more places than glass – the pool, the lake, camping, etc.

We expect the shelf life of the CROWLER® to be similar to a growler, if kept cold. However, we always recommend to consume the beer at its freshest, which would be within 48 hours from time of fill.

Let’s lift a CROWLER® to life!
