From The Bruery:
We’re pleased to announce our brand new Share This™ series of collaborative and charitable imperial stouts treated with special ingredients. The debut release of Share This™: Coffee features coffee from the Philippines sourced by our friends at San Diego’s Mostra Coffee. A dollar from each bottle produced will be donated to Free Wheelchair Mission’s efforts in the Philippines.
This beer will see national distribution twice a year with two unique treatments, in limited supply. Each release of Share This will spotlight unique ingredients and an important cause in a specific region. The base beer for Share This is a rich and roasty 11.9% ABV imperial stout.
“Share This is about featuring special ingredients from around the world,” commented The Bruery’s Founder & CEO Patrick Rue. “When we looked into the amazing ingredients we’d want to use for future releases, it became apparent they generally came from impoverished areas of the world. The way we design most of our beers is that they are shared with others, and taking that theme a bit further, that we share with those who could use our help.”
Our first treatment for this imperial stout uses Bourbon & Catimor variety coffee beans from the Cagat family farm of the highlands of Mindanao island in the Philippines. “We’ve been friends with the folks at Mostra Coffeefor some time,” shared Rue. “They introduced us to an amazing, very limited coffee from Philippines that they source exclusively.”
For each bottle of Share This™: Coffee produced, one dollar is donated to Free Wheelchair Mission’s efforts in the Philippines. Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM) is a nonprofit organization that provides wheelchairs at no cost to people with disabilities living in developing nations.
“Our partnership for The Bruery is truly one of the best we could ask for,” expressed FWM Development Officer Georgia Price. “It will allow FWM to give 550 people in the Philippines their mobility back. This is a transforming gift — not only do their caretakers and family get to go back out into their communities, but our recipients also get a chance to go out and work again, they are able and free to socialize out in the marketplace again, and in some societies they are seen again as a functional member. When FWM gives a wheelchair, our recipients’ dignity, independence and hope are restored.”
Share This: Coffee will start hitting craft beer retailers on June 1, 2016 in The Bruery’s markets in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, LA, MD, MA, MI, NJ, NV, NV, NC, OH, PA, RI, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI. Throughout the month, public release events with key brewery staff will take place in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County and Northern CA. Check thebruery.com/events for event details.
