From Harpoon:
We are committed to providing you with the very best beer drinking experiences possible. With that comes extensive quality control screening – it is an important part of who we are and critical to bringing you the very highest quality beer. With that, we want to communicate a concern we have with UFO Big Squeeze bottles and cans that may not meet our standards.
In the course of our ongoing QC checks, we have determined that there is a very slight chance of increased carbonation in a small percentage of UFO Big Squeeze after 90 days if stored at room temperature. The beer does not go “bad” after 90 days, but in rare instances prolonged storage does not keep the beer at our required carbonation levels which may result in overflowing bottles or cans, or in very rare cases, bottle/can failure. Although this risk is very small, your enjoyment of our beer is our highest concern.
Because of this, we are reducing our “Enjoy By” date by 30 days so that you can enjoy the freshest UFO Big Squeeze possible. For example, if you have UFO Big Squeeze bottles or cans with an Enjoy By date of 7/15/16, the new suggested Enjoy By date would be 6/15/16. If you have any UFO Big Squeeze with an Enjoy By date of 7/15/16, we recommend that you drink by 6/15/16. It is best when stored in a cool, dark place like your fridge.
If you have recently purchased a UFO Big Squeeze that may now be out of the 90 day freshness date window (an Enjoy By date of 6/15/16 or earlier), please send us an email at UFOBigSqueeze@harpoon.com. We will reimburse you any out of code UFO Big Squeeze that falls within this timeframe.
In addition to the updated freshness coding, we have made improvements in our production to help prevent additional issues. We are very sorry if this poses an inconvenience to you, but we hope that it will serve to improve your UFO beer drinking experience.
My fellow employee owners and I greatly appreciate the continued trust and appreciation you have for our beers.
Thank you,
Jaime Schier
Harpoon Director of Quality
