This update from Otter Creek:

Otter Creek Brewing Company is twisting up something special to celebrate 25 spins around the sun with the limited edition 25th Anniversary Double India Pale Lager, which rolls off the line in early August.

A big, bold boombox in a bottle, this Double IPL brings the beat and delivers a hip-shaking hoppines derived from generous amounts of Citra, Simcoe, Galaxy, Mosaic, Columbus and Sorachi Ace hops, which are sure to dance around your palate.

“We wanted to create a party in a bottle,” said Otter Creek Brewmaster, Mike Gerhart.

Gerhart and his crew developed this celebratory Double IPL to showcase the new direction and creativity of Otter Creek, which has experienced a renaissance with the discontinuation of it three year-round beers (Copper Ale, Hop Session) and Black IPA) and subsequent rebrand in 2015. Alongside Stovepipe Porter, these flagship brews pigeonholed Otter Creek as a brewer of traditional ales, Gerhart said.

“We’ve really reinvented ourselves,” Gerhart said. “We’re stoked to have the opportunity to brew whatever we feel like brewing. What’s more different [from an ale] than a juicy Double IPL?”

Twenty-five years in the making, this new brew is icing on the cake for a year laced with innovation and growth, highlighted by a fresh looking pub and the commissioning of a brand new 120-barrel brewhouse.

Get the first hit of Otter Creek’s 25th Anniversary Double IPL (8.5% ABV, 75 IBUs) on Saturday, August 6th at the Rusty Nail in Stowe, Vermont. Rubblebucket and And The Kids will be kicking out hip-shaking tunes to pair with these palate-pleasing brews.
