Dry Dock Brewing Releasing Aurora Ale To Commemorate Aurora’s 125th Anniversary

AURORA, CO— 2016 marks the city of Aurora’s 125th anniversary, for which Dry Dock Brewing Company brewed its newest beer, Aurora Ale. It’s an easy-drinking, approachable Blonde Ale brewed with beet sugar to commemorate our home’s heritage as a beet growing region. This beer was brewed with noble hops & fermented with Belgian yeast.

"We're very proud to be Aurora's first brewery, and this community has been a huge part of our success,” says Dry Dock Co-Owner Michelle Reding. “We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate this anniversary than with a beer brewed to honor our roots."

Dry Dock worked with the Aurora History Museum to source the many historic photos that are included on Aurora Ale’s label. The feature image is a wagon filled with sugar beets circa 1915. Also pictured are Aurora’s historic Big John Fire Engine, Cub Scout Troop 741, the Del Mar Pool, and Stanley Aviation. For more historic photos of Aurora, visit the exhibit “Worth Discovering: 125 Years of Aurora History” at the Aurora History Museum through July 10. Details can be found at auroramuseum.org

Aurora Ale will debut on draft and in bombers at North Dock on Thursday, April 28 at 2pm. The Comida food truck will be slinging their famous tacos at this beer release event, as well as a special beet dish made to pair with Aurora Ale. Celebrate Aurora’s anniversary the following day, Friday, April 29, at South Dock at 5pm. Time For Dezzerts will be serving birthday cupcakes made with Dry Dock beer for purchase.
