Surly - Todd The Axe Mann Cans Return This Week

imageFrom Surly:

Todd The Axe Man is back. This West Coast IPA has hop character as intense as a thrash metal guitar. Golden Promise malt provides a blastbeat background to the screaming citrus notes created by overdriven amounts of Citra and Mosaic hops.

It all began back in 2014, when our head of brewing operations Todd Haug had the chance to collaborate on a beer with Amager Bryghus in Copenhagen. Amager are big fans of Furious and Abrasive and wanted to work with the British malts we use in those beers. Todd was able to get some Simpsons Golden Promise malt from the UK to Copenhagen, and together they made an American IPA with the British malt and Citra and Mosaic hops. Amager christened it ‘Todd The Axe Man’ in honor of Todd’s other career as a metal guitarist.

We brought Todd The Axe Man back to the States and it became a fast favorite at Surly MSP, so much so that we thought we better start canning it in 2015. So we did, and we think we made the right decision because Surly Nation couldn’t get enough of it. You kept asking for more, and we heard you loud and clear – so now we’re going to be re-releasing Todd The Axe Man in cans and draft throughout the year.

Starting this week, you’ll be able to find cans of Todd The Axe Man on shelves in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Chicago. SkÃ¥l!
