Missoula Spirit and Ale Trail Launched

Missoula, MT, March 30, 2016 Local couple Brice and Lisa Ginardi have created the Missoula Spirit and Ale Trail (MSAT), a new project designed to celebrate Missoula's distinctive craft beer and spirits scene. The MSAT encourages residents and visitors to explore the variety of styles that Missoula has to offer. Ale trails exist in other beer-centric communities, but the MSAT uniquely appeals to both craft beer and cocktail enthusiasts.
The project kicks off during a launch event Friday, April 1, 5:00pm at the Kettle House southside location.

Lisa Ginardi explains their simple motivation for creating the project: "Brice is a brewer, and we’re both fans of craft breweries and distilleries; we always look for them when we travel. Since Missoula has such a rich local scene we expected to find something like this when we first visited – but it didn’t exist, so we created one for ourselves.” The Ginardis have partnered with long-time friend Geoff Pavey (geoffpavey.com), a web developer/designer, to expand the concept and share it with the public.

The mobile-optimized MSAT website and printed passport map work together to guide folks through the collection of 12 breweries and distilleries in town. Passport maps -- available at all of the 12 “trail stops” or printed from home -- provide details as well as a "locals tip" for each destination. The website also provides links to local beer-and-spirit-related events and alternative transportation options. "The site is thorough, handsome, professional, and a real asset for all our businesses," says Jenny Montgomery of Montgomery Distillery.

There’s one prize for collecting all brewery stamps, and a separate one for collecting all distillery stamps; this allows trail participants to customize their goal-oriented drinking experience. “We wanted our prizes to be practical and reusable,” Lisa says, “to really fit with Missoula’s outdoor lifestyle.”
