In Indianapolis, the Month of May is all about racing and in anticipation, Flat12 Bierwerks is set to release Hinchtown Hammerdown, a limited-edition, pilsner-style beer brewed in partnership with Verizon IndyCar Series driver, James Hinchcliffe. To launch Hinchcliffe’s beer release,
Flat12 will host the first annual Hinchtown Hammerdown Can Prix on Saturday, April 2nd at 12:00PM.
The ultimate IndyCar kick-off party will feature the first ever Can Prix Mini Trike Race! Party-goers can race to the finish line – on a tiny tricycle- to claim the title of Flat12’s 2016 Can Prix WINNER and win 'Hinch' swag bag prizes. Flat12’sFounder and Brewmaster will set the pace and duke it out for the win in the Brewers Round. There will be live music immediately following the race, with plenty of tailgate games and beer drinking throughout the day.
This year’s release is made all the more momentous by James Hinchcliffe’s full recovery and return to racing after his involvement in a major crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway May 18, 2015, but now #HinchI5Back and better than ever. “Flat12 is a fantastic brewery and I’ve been a long-time fan. It’s always a great time working with brewmaster Sean Manahan and his team. When creating the beer 4 years ago, we decided to go with a pilsner-style, an easy-drinking beer for a day at the track. We’ve created a great brew, but be on the lookout for more exciting news coming in May,” said James Hinchcliffe.
Flat12 tweaked the Hinchtown Hammerdown can design this year in celebration of Hinchcliffe’s comeback and to commemorate 100 years of racing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway— two tremendous racing achievements. Starting April 2nd, Hinchtown Hammerdown will be available at select bars and restaurants, and local grocery and package stores around Indiana as well as the Indianapolis Brewery.
