From Coronado & Tribe:
CORONADO, CA — March 10, 2016 — Coronado Brewing Company of San Diego has teamed up with Chicago-based brewery, Tribes Beer Company, to bring us two collaboration IPAs. On January 10th, Tribes head brewer David Kerns flew out to the San Diego brewery to create a killer IPA, Tribal Wave IPA with Coronado’s head brewer Ryan Brooks. On the same day, Coronado brewer Johnny “O” arrived in Chicago to make a similar beer, Tribal Council IPA with Tribes assistant brewer Ben Michaels.
“We always love to collaborate with other breweries in different parts of the world,” said Ryan Brooks, Head Brewer at Coronado Brewing. “When the chance came about to team up with Tribes, we were excited to brew an IPA from both locations with some of our experimental hops for a bright and tropical IPA with a little Mid-West flavor.”
“The opportunity to send Tribes Brewer David Kerns to San Diego to collaborate with one of our favorite breweries was a big deal for us,” says Tribes Beer Company owner Niall Freyne. “Coronado has been making great beer for some time now. As a young brewery and Coronado fans, we were stoked to brew alongside those guys, both in San Diego and in the Chicago burbs. The beer is bright, bitter and hoppy. It is everything you would hope for in a continuously hopped IPA but with a touch of the Mid-West that really sets it apart! We know everyone's going to enjoy this one!"
On March 16th, Tribes Beer Company will be hosting an event featuring both versions of this IPA. Representatives from both breweries will be in attendance as well as West Coast Surf Rock Band "The Real Gone.” The event will begin at 6 pm and west coast style beachwear is strongly suggested.
