GREENVILLE, MS (March 18, 2016) – Today Anheuser-Busch sent more than 50,000 cans of clean drinking water to support victims of this week’s severe flooding in Mississippi. Communities throughout Mississippi are in dire need of fresh water as they recover from flash flooding across the state.

Yesterday morning, the truckload of canned water arrived in Leland, MS from Anheuser-Busch’s brewery in Cartersville, GA. Local Anheuser-Busch distributor Mitchell Delta Distributing oversaw delivery to the American Red Cross Mississippi Region and the canned water is being distributed to those in need across the state.

“When a disaster like this strikes, we have a responsibility to support our communities,” said Kevin Fahrenkrog, Sr. General Manager of Anheuser-Busch’s Cartersville Brewery. “Donating water is just one way that Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesalers can help out during times of need.”

Anheuser-Busch has a long history of caring for communities during difficult times including recent canned water donations to victims of tornadoes in Southeastern Louisiana and residents of Flint, MI combatting their own water crisis. Philanthropy is a core pillar of Anheuser-Busch and their history of giving extends back to the company’s support of victims of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
