From Anheuser-Busch:
This past winter the World Wide Technology Soccer Park, a staple to the St. Louis soccer community, was destroyed from major flooding in the St. Louis area. On Thursday, March 10, St. Louisans gathered at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten to raise awareness and provide support for the restoration efforts for the well-known facility.
Through the fundraising event, Anheuser-Busch, in partnership with Grey Eagle Distributors and the St. Louis Soccer Park Fund, raised nearly $100,000, which includes a $25,000 donation made on behalf of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation along with a $5,000 donation from Grey Eagle Distributors. All of these proceeds will be donated directly to the World Wide Technology Soccer Park’s restoration efforts.
Additionally, Anheuser-Busch recently supported the Kirkwood Athletic Association, which also experienced major damage in the recent flooding. Since 1960, the Kirkwood Athletic Association has offered Boy’s Youth Baseball and Girl’s Youth Softball in Kirkwood and its surrounding communities, providing opportunities for children to participle in team sports. Anheuser-Busch Foundation donated $10,000 to aid the organization’s flood recovery efforts.
Unfortunately, the World Wide Technology Soccer Park and Kirkwood Athletic Association are not the only facilities affected by this flooding. Over the past few months, Anheuser-Busch has made strong efforts to give back to the community and help rebuild those areas affected by the devastating floods – including providing more than 84,000 cans of emergency drinking water to the area. This support is part of Anheuser-Busch’s mission to assist its surrounding communities and be “The Best Beer Company Bringing People Together For a Better World.”
