From Mothers:
You ask, you shall receive! After much anticipation, Mother's beloved Imperial Stout, MI*F imperial stout, has finally made it's way to each of our markets in Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas!
This barrel aged imperial stout is one of Mother's favorite beers and our entire family is ecstatic to share this labor of love with you!
Our Brewmaster, Brian Allen, shares a few thoughts on this year's liquid:
"In all of our wisdom we thought it would be fun to make a raisin, chocolate imperial stout blended from a variety of bourbon, brandy, sherry, rum and whiskey barrels. And it certainly is. Tasting each barrel, tasting each blend is not only fun but a tremendous learning experience, both in the nature of barrel aging beers and in blending barrel aged beer. The 2016 MI*F imperial stout vintage is the result of a year's worth of brewing and aging beer in approximately 70 different spirit barrels. Throughout the year we have tasted and checked the development of flavors as the beer ages. As in year's past we are not attempting to recreate the exact same beer year in year out. We evaluate the barrels as an ingredient depending on their quality and condition when we acquire them, so the blend is always evolving, which means that the resulting character is always evolving. Instead, we are committed to releasing the best blend we have in house while maintaining the essential character- a big, sticky, complex raisin chocolate imperial stout that is cohesive, balanced, and most importantly delicious. We think this year's release is our best yet and hope you find it as enjoyable and interesting as we do. For the best flavor experience pour MI*F imperial stout in a special glass and let it warm up a bit. For the best drinking experience enjoy slowly with good friends.
Cheers!"
