Denver's Spangalang Brewery Releases Pro-Broncos Beer: Orange Crushsicle

On Friday, January 22 at 5 PM, Spangalang Brewery (one of Denver’s most revered new microbreweries) is tapping a new beer in advance of the upcoming AFC Championship game this Sunday in Denver.

Orange Crushsicle is a fast-finishing, super-quaffable session beer (of just 4.3%) taken to championship heights by additions of orange juice, bitter and sweet orange peel, and a dose of vanilla.

“It’s the beer equivalent of a Dreamsicle frozen treat,” says Spangalang’s Darren Boyd, “with refreshing orange citrus notes wrapped around subtle vanilla flavors. It’s a guaranteed winner we’ve brewed in honor of the future AFC champion Denver Broncos. Local craft beer drinkers will love it, but it’s way too much for people from New England.”

Spangalang is setting aside a very special keg of the beer for Tom Brady for after the game. “Just before kickoff,” Boyd says, “we’re going to drop the pressure on the beer by a few PSI. It'll be a bit flat and more to his liking, something to enjoy while he wipes away the tears."

Spangalang Brewery is located at 2736 Welton Street in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood. Founded by former Great Divide Brewery staffers Taylor Rees, Austin Wiley and Darren Boyd, the brewery opened in April of 2015 and has already earned numerous “best new brewery” honors and a Great American Beer Festival medal.
