From Anheuser-Busch:
St. Louis and Oklahoma City (December 31, 2015) — Anheuser-Busch has provided 3,528 cases of emergency drinking water — or 84,672 cans — for use by St. Louis-area and Oklahoma residents affected by flooding and storms.
Local Anheuser-Busch distributors HW Herrell Distributing Co and Anheuser-Busch Sales of Oklahoma are working with the American Red Cross and local agencies to distribute the water to those in need; 32,928 cans have been delivered to Imperial, Missouri and 51,744 cans are en route to Oklahoma City and McAlester, Oklahoma.
“People in Missouri and Oklahoma are in need of fresh drinking water. This is one way Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesalers can help our neighbors,” said Pete Kraemer, Head Brewmaster and Vice President, Supply, Anheuser-Busch.
Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 74 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters.
Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
