From West Sixth:
West Sixth announced today the release of a new draft beer created specifically for the Breeders’ Cup celebration in Lexington, KY; the Breeders’ Cup Brown.
“The Breeders’ Cup is going to be an incredible event, & we’re really excited to be working with them” said West Sixth co-founder Brady Barlow. “This is the first time that Keeneland will host the Breeders’ Cup, so we thought it only appropriate that a Lexington brewery should create the official craft beer of the event!”.
The Breeders’ Cup Brown is a roasty brown ale with strong hop aroma and flavor that provides notes of tropical fruit, citrus and pine. A mild toastiness lent from the malts provides an extra layer of complexity that rounds out this beer.
“It’s a great hoppy beer for the fall horse racing season in Kentucky” said brewer and co-founder Robin Sither.
“We are very pleased to partner with local brewer West Sixth for their creation of the Breeders’ Cup Brown Ale at this year’s World Championships at Keeneland, and give our fans around the world a taste of the Bluegrass,” said Craig Fravel, Breeders’ Cup President and CEO. “The support from the Lexington business community for 2015 Breeders’ Cup continues to be nothing short of remarkable.”
“We’re also excited to announce that West Sixth Brewing’s flagship beers – our IPA and Amber – will be featured throughout Keeneland for the Breeders’ Cup” said Barlow. “We’re excited to show all of those folks that we don’t just make great bourbon, but we also make great beer here in Kentucky”.
The Breeders’ Cup Brown will be available on draft in Central Kentucky from Clark Distributing beginning next week.
