It’s Pumpkin Time At Jack’s Abby

imageFrom Jack’s Abby:

Co-Owner, Sam Hendler says, “Hi I’m Sam from Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers, I’m here to show you the 2015 version of the Pumpkin Crop Lager. This year we were actually able to roast the pumpkins in our own wood-fired oven here in the taproom. It’s something we really take pride in, doing a pumpkin beer the right way, using pumpkins, and now making them in our own space. We chop all the pumpkins up, throw ‘em in the oven, once they got nice and soft, blended them up, and we use that puree right in the kettle to brew the Pumpkin Crop Lager.

So there are some spices, a little bit of cinnamon a little bit of nutmeg , but it’s not overwhelming, not overpowering. We really want, when you do take that first sip, you to be able to taste some pumpkin. A little bit of that spice in the background, it doesn’t taste like pumpkin pie though, it’s not crazy sweet- you get a nice pumpkin flavor and a little bit of the spice. It’s just a really fun beer to have in the fall.

This beer will just be available mostly for the month of October, maybe a little bit in November- obviously available here in the beer hall and in local stores. It’s a really limited batch, we don’t release it all the way back in July. So if it’s something you’re looking for, make sure you go find it right away. Cheers!”
