From DC Brau & Stillwater:
MAGIC NUMBER INDIA PALE LAGER
A Collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal & Union Craft
Releases at Blue Pit BBQ in Baltimore on October 15th
Union, Stillwater and DC Brau decided to get together and make a collaboration for Baltimore Beer Week 2015. "Magic Number" - an India Pale Lager with 6% ABV & 35 IBUs - has a light, quenching body and a touch of flaked oats for a light, creamy mouthfeel. IPL's are an exciting new twist on IPA's, which produce a very palatable brew. Using a lager yeast, we're able to keep the yeast character clean and restrained by means of a cooler fermentation temperature which lets the gentle malt character and the ridiculously juicy hop character be the only point of focus. Floral, citrus, grapefruit, passionfruit, earth, pine and melon; are these adjectives ringing any bells? Hell yes they are! The hops used in "Magic Number" form of a formidable hop threesome. Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe are hands down the top three hops used in American IPA production and they hit on all cylinders here. If you consider yourself a true hop aficionado, this is one beer not to be missed!
