We've got an amazing day of new releases: two Barrel Roll Releases (available on tap and in bottles) and our Wet Hop IPA will be tapped for pints, growlers, & crowlers.
Each autumn we brew a fresh batch of Gourdgeous, an Imperial Porter which pays homage to our local pumpkin harvest. To create FALLING LEAF, we placed a small portion of last year’s Gourdgeous in barrels to age gracefully through another turn of the seasons. A year in our cellar has mellowed and sweetened the robust flavors of pumpkin pie spice, molasses, caramel and dark chocolate, while the single-use bourbon barrels we selected added bright layers of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Beneath these layers you’ll recognize the strong core of the base beer: 1,000 pounds of pumpkins grown just ½ a mile from our brewery. Falling Leaf is ready to drink now, or can be placed into your own cellar to continue aging gracefully.
In addition to FALLING LEAF, we are excited to announce an extremely limited special release: FALLING LEAF "MEXICAN CACAO EDITION." The latest expression of our Imperial Pumpkin Porter, this special release was brewed to make you think of Mexican hot chocolate. For the base beer, we used our seasonal Gourdgeous Imperial Porter brewed with 1,000 pounds of local pumpkins, molasses, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice. To this sweetly spicy porter, we added cacao nibs, vanilla, chipotle and arbol chilies, then aged the beer for 12 months in bourbon barrels. The smoky heat from the chilies, oak notes from the barrels, and chocolate spice blend perfectly to produce a complex array of flavors and aromas designed to be sipped andenjoyed on a pleasant autumn evening. A good beer to cellar and age, letting the flavors marry even more.
A limited quantity both of these beers will be on tap starting at 11am Saturday. As for bottles, in an effort to make the bottle sale easier and more accommodating for our fans, the bottle sale will be completely ONLINE. No more waiting in line for hours or worrying if you'll get a bottle! Just show up any time Saturday to pickup your bottles. Atnoon on Thursday, September 24th, you will be able to purchase up to 3 bottles of Falling Leaf ($20 each), and 1 bottle of the Mexican Cacao Special Edition ($25). We'll also be releasing this year's Wet Hop IPA, brewed with carefully selected and freshly harvested Citra hops that arrived just last week.
