Tempe, Ariz. - For more than 40 years, Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake has been the
Valley's place to be for beer, brats, music and more, all benefiting Tempe Sister Cities.
That won’t change with the 43rd edition set for Oct. 9-11, 2015 at Tempe Town Lake.
Admission is free and there will be plenty of Bavarian fun including lederhosen, brats from Von
Hanson's and live music on three stages.
But the 2015 version of Four Peaks Oktoberfest is adding new elements such as a “Sunday
Funday” for the whole family. The Sunday lineup includes family friendly free events such as:
Kinderfest presented by Landings Credit Union
Yoga in the Park and Zumbathon
Wiener dog races
Brat eating contest
Carnival
Splash Park
Four Peaks Oktoberfest will also feature the Frank Kush das Foot Race at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct.
10, at the Tempe Center for the Arts park. A 5K, 10K and 1 mile fun run will take runners and
walkers on a scenic course around Tempe Town Lake.
“Four Peaks Oktoberfest is a signature event for not only Tempe, but the entire Valley,” said
Event Chair Bobbi Jones. “We're proud to bring together some of the must-haves from years
past along with new elements that enhance the weekend.”
One of the new elements will be a live stream of Friday night's opening ceremonies on
Periscope. The event will be seen in Tempe's ten Sister Cities from Regensburg, Germany to
Lower Hutt, New Zealand and Timbuktu, Mali.
Live music will be featured all weekend starting with Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row Experience
Friday night. In all, 27 bands are scheduled to perform on the three different stages during Four
Peaks Oktoberfest. And, of course, there will be a polka stage and dance floor.
Four Peaks Oktoberfest will offer a Sunday special where attendees can get two beers, one brat
and one stein for $20. Seasonal favorite Pumpkin Porter, a Four Peaks tradition, will be available
on draft, along with Paulenar Oktoberfest, one of only six official beers allowed to be poured for
Oktoberfest in Munich.
During the three day event, it's expected more than 25,000 brats will be consumed along with
over 750 kegs of beer.
“Four Peaks Oktoberfest really offers something for the entire family. It’s a Tempe tradition, for
the tens of thousands that attend and for our 2,000-plus volunteers that make it all happen,” said
Marketing/Entertainment Chair Kathy Schreiner. “It’s also a tremendous opportunity to promote
Tempe Sister Cities and celebrate the great relationships that are being developed with cities and
students and families all around the globe.”
