I couldn’t resist posting this beer. This bottle comes to us from Surf Brewery in Ventura, CA and the beer is called Avocado Honey IPA. Yes it’s an IPA brewed with honey and the nectar from avocado blossoms. This beer will be packaged in 22oz bottles and it will come in at 7%-AbV and 73 IBU.
This update from Surf:
Surf Avocado Honey IPA, will incorporate local honey from Bennett’s Honey Farm in Fillmore, CA., and a variety of complimentary hops. At 7% abv and 73 theoretical IBUs this one has some memorable flavor.
Head brewer Nick Valasquez mentioned, “We really like incorporating local ingredients into our beer, like recently adding espresso from a local roaster and grapefruit from a local ranch. We have used honey in one or two other brews before and wanted to have it more of the focus of this seasonal IPA. Notice the lack of artwork on the bottles; we just wanted to focus on the local ingredient in the beer.” Now available in bottles and on draft.
We also have Surf 150 Session IPA (5.3%-AbV).
