From Dogfish Head:
Those summer days are coming to an end and it’s almost time for pumpkin everything. For us, that means the return of our favorite pumpkin beer … Punkin Ale!
With ‘seasonal creep’ creepin’ up on us more and more each year, we know we’re a bit behind in the world of pumpkin beers - we’re okay with that. Pumpkin beers in July just isn’t our thing, which is why we ask our wholesale partners NOT to begin shipping Punkin Ale to retailers until the week before Labor Day weekend. While there are a few wholesalers that may release the beer a bit earlier than we’d like, most of them are happy to oblige.
For us here in coastal Delaware, Punkin Ale will be hitting taps and shelves at both our Milton brewery and Rehoboth brewpub on Tuesday, September 1st! Wahooo! With the release of Punkin Ale also comes the annual ‘Punk out for Punkin’ Day. Our coworkers come to work sporting their best punk looks - you’re more than welcome to join!
The fun doesn’t stop there though. We’re also releasing a slew of unique Punkin Ale merchandise this year…
- - Punkin Ale tees (featuring the same label artwork as the bottle)
- - Punkin Ale soap
- - Punkin Ale growlers from Romanick Pottery (so sorry, but these will not be available online and we cannot ship them – you’ve gotta grab these in person)
- - Punkin Ale mugs from Deneen Pottery (these will be available for purchase online)
Handmade and numbered growlers from Romanick Pottery & handmade and numbered mugs from Deneen Pottery.
Lastly, you’ll find Punkin Ale sporting a whole new look this year thanks to our 2015 seasonal artist and friend, Rich Kelly. If you see that pumpkin-eating teddy bear in your hand (pictured left), it’s from 2014 and it’s old! Pick up that tatted lady on the right for the fresh stuff!
2014 vs. 2015
We’re so excited for Punkin Ale’s return and we hope you’re just as jazzed – cheers!
