We brought you a peek at this beer, and now the release details from Ballast Point:
This year has seen the introduction of many new Ballast Point beers and we plan to keep them coming. Last year, our brewers starting tinkering with adding pumpkin and spices to our beers (see: Homework #4). And this week, we have the first release of Pumpkin Down in 6packs. After that tinkering, we realized the caramel and toffee maltiness of our Piper Down Scottish ale is the perfect backdrop for a boatload of roasted pumpkin. Just before bottling, we add a subtle amount of spice to complement, but not overwhelm, the earthy flavor.
Some may say it's too early for pumpkin beer, but in San Diego we don't really have seasons, right? Plus we have been so excited about this one that we just had to share it, fall or not. It is available now in all of our tasting rooms, and will be hitting store shelves soon in the 31 states that we distribute to. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Also don't forget that we will be hosting another Ballast Point bus tour on Sunday, August 30th. The tour will take you to each of our four locations and will be guided by some of our knowledgeable Ballast Point employees. Cost includes a bus ride between all locations, tours at each location, beer, spirits, food and great memories! Tickets are $70, and you can check out the itinerary and purchase your ticket here.
And on a final note, Ballast Point Miramar is hiring! We are looking for some kick-ass, beer loving, customer service-centered people to join our team. We are hiring for back of house positions (cooks, expediters, dishwashers) as well as a dedicated tour guide (must love talking) to share the story of Ballast Point. If you are interested, send an email with your resume and cover letter here. Or find us at the San Diego Craft Beer Job Fair next Tuesday for additional tasting room and production openings.
