Harpoon Recalls One Batch of UFO Big Squeeze Bottles

From Harpoon:

We are committed to making innovative craft beers of the very highest quality. With that comes extensive quality control screening  - it's an important part of who we are. For that reason, we want to communicate a concern we have with a very small quantity of UFO Big Squeeze bottles that may not meet our standards.

In the course of our ongoing QC checks, we have determined that one batch of UFO Big Squeeze Shandy has begun to show signs of refermentation in the bottle; this has the potential to lead to increased carbonation levels in the beer and in very rare cases, the bottle may fail under the increased pressure. The beer poses no health threat whatsoever, but continued storage presents a small risk. We ask that if you have any bottles of this one particular batch that you uncap them and pour them out.The batch in question can be identified by looking at the enjoy by information printed in yellow on the neck of the bottles called the Julian Date. It can be seen in the following format:

"Enjoy By 092

08/15/15 ####”

Only the batch with the Julian Date number 092 next to “Enjoy By” is affected: all other UFO Big Squeeze bottles are unaffected, as are all cans and draft.

If you have any bottles of this batch in your possession, or if you have any questions, please contact us at

HarpoonQC@harpoonbrewery.com.
We appreciate the continued trust and appreciation you have for our beers.
Thank you,
Jaime Schier
