From Grand Teton:
At the 19th annual North American Brewers Beer Award competition, three of Grand Teton Brewing's exceptional craft brews were awarded medals. Bitch Creek ESB was awarded another gold medal; American Sour received a silver medal; and, Mountain Berry Soda received a bronze medal.
Bitch Creek ESB received the Gold Medal in the American-Style Brown Ale category and has now claimed 15 gold medals in national events since it was first brewed in 2003.
American Sour received the Silver Medal in the American-Style Wild or Sour Ale category. Stay tuned for more news on a new addition to our barrel-aged beer program.
Mountain Berry Soda received the Bronze Medal in the Carbonated Soft Drinks category. Grand Teton Brewing has been making award-winning, kettle-brewed sodas since 2003. Mountain Berry Soda contains a blend of huckleberry, blueberry and blackberry juices.
The North American Beer Awards is a unique competitive event, sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association, where the best beers, ciders, meads and sodas from across the country are judged.
Seasonal Series:
Snarling Badger Berliner Weisse
In Berliner Weisse, we think we've found the perfect style for our summer seasonal. This north German-style wheat beer is traditionally brewed and released very fresh. It has a light body from the wheat and a refreshingly tart acidity that make it a perfect summer thirst-quencher. Its lemony tartness is provided by fermentation with Lactobacillus, the same microorganism that’s responsible for yogurt’s tang. That tartness increases and improves with age, so the people of Berlin are known to buy extra bottles to bury in their gardens for two years or more. We’ve taken a traditional style and added our own twist; we’ve tripled the strength over the traditional beer, which will increase its aging potential.
Snarling Badger Berliner Weisse will be available July 1, 2015 in 12 oz 4-packs, 1/6 and 1/2 barrel kegs.
