From Anheuser-Busch:
Last weekend 1,000 of the most #UpForWhatever consumers joined Bud Light on Catalina Island for an action-packed weekend of spontaneous fun and adventures at Whatever, USA 2015. By now, all Whatever, USA citizens have returned home and the island’s harbor town of Avalon has been restored to its classic state.
To thank the community for their hospitality and #UpForWhatever attitude, Bud Light made a $500,000 donation to the city of Avalon that will be applied towards replacing Joe Machado Field with artificial turf, which will help with the island’s water conservation efforts.
“We spend tens of thousands of dollars a year on water to maintain that field,” said Ann Marshall, Mayor of the City of Avalon. “Dollars that we can better spend somewhere else. We’re so thankful for that.”
Bud Light presented the donation to “Mayor Ann” during the graduation ceremony for the Whatever, USA class of 2015. The symbolic giant check reads: “Thank you for being up for whatever and a fantastic host! May your new turf field give your residents years of spontaneous fun.”
