Flying Dog Sweetlife Pale Wheat Returns for Sweetgreen’s Music Fest

From Flying Dog:

The sweetlife never tasted this good.

For the second year in a row, we’ve partnered with sweetgreen on the sweetlife music festival, a two-day celebration of music, art, food and culture May 30 and 31 at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

And the best part is the beer: We’re brewing sweetlife Pale Wheat exclusively for the festival. Our brewers are using local wheat and rye for a soft earthiness and subtle acidity and Mosaic hops for a complex array of juicy tropical fruit, citrus, berry and pine notes.

One of the things we love about this festival is the detailed curation, from showcasing the best local cuisine to a commitment to sustainability. In that same light, new this year is the Flying Dog Hop-Up Shop, an interactive and educational experience for VIP ticket holders.

Hops are arguably the most distinguishable and versatile ingredient found in craft beer, with hundreds of varieties grown in our backyard (literally), across the country and halfway around the globe. To highlight the unique profiles of each variety, the Hop-Up Shop will feature 5 different casks of sweetlife Pale Wheat:

  • Cask 1: sweetlife Pale Wheat in its original, delicious form
  • Cask 2: Added Columbus hops for herbal, garlic and black pepper notes
  • Cask 3: Added Simcoe hops for pine, resinous and woodsy notes
  • Cask 4: Added Citra hops for citrus, grapefruit and melon notes
  • Cask 5: Added Galaxy hops for tropical and stone fruit notes

The sweetlife Pale Wheat will act as both the control and the canvas to showcase the ingredient that plays an enormous role in the art of craft beer.

The Hop-Up Shop will open at 3:30 pm on both days of the festival. Tickets for VIP and general admission are on sale now.
