ST. PAUL, Minn. – (April 8, 2015) – Mayor Chris Coleman joins Summit Brewing Company to celebrate the culmination of a multi-year expansion project. A private ribbon cutting ceremony with beers and light appetizers will take place on Friday, April 17 at 4pm. The guest list includes public officials, as well as construction, design and vendor partners.

In 2013, Summit purchased the 40,000 square foot building and 3.5 acres of land directly east of the brewery. Utilizing the latest in canning technology, Summit installed a new canning line that was producing their first ever cans by the spring of 2014. The building was connected to the brewery’s new cellar, a $7 million expansion that was completed in September 2013, by an elevated pipeline capable of transferring 40 gallons of beer per minute. In addition to a canning line, the new building houses warehousing for Summit’s packaging and point-of-sale inventory.

Once the canning line and warehousing project was complete, Summit started work on renovating the administrative spaces which included turning a large warehouse space into an industry training room complete with full A/V capabilities and a 26-foot handmade bar of reclaimed wood by local company Wood from the Hood. This space is dedicated to educational and sensory experiences for Summit wholesaler and retail partners. Summit’s administrative and sales offices were also moved from the main brewery into the renovated building, with special attention paid to modern, ergonomic work stations. The full expansion project was completed in March of 2015.
